At regular price, an ounce of flower at a Florida dispensary usually costs $240 to $280. On the same day, somewhere in the state, an ounce is almost always on sale for far less. On November 4, the cheapest ounce of whole flower was $99, and an ounce of ground flower was $45. If you buy an ounce a month, the gap between those prices is worth close to $2,000 a year. Here is where the cheap ounces are, what you give up (if anything), and how to catch them without checking every shop.
In short
- Regular price for an ounce in Florida: about $240 to $280.
- Cheapest whole-flower ounce on November 4: $99. Cheapest ground ounce: $45.
- At an ounce a month, buying on deal saves about $1,690 to $2,170 a year.

What an ounce costs at regular price
An ounce is 28 grams, or eight eighths. Most Florida shops price flower by the eighth, and at regular price an eighth of mid-shelf flower runs $30 to $35. Eight of them come to $240 to $280. Top-shelf strains cost more, and some shops sell an ounce in one bag for a little less, but $240 to $280 is what most patients pay when nothing is on sale.
What an ounce costs on deal
Every day, a few shops run an ounce deal, and the prices are much lower than that. These were the cheapest ounces in Florida on November 4:
- Sanctuary Cannabis: an ounce of ground flower for $45 ($1.59 a gram).
- Mint Cannabis: a build-your-own ounce, eight eighths of whole flower, for $99 ($3.54 a gram).
- Ayr: 28 grams of whole flower for $110.
- GrowHealthy: an ounce made of eighths for $130.
The names change from day to day, and so do the prices. That is the point: on any given day the cheapest ounce is rarely at the shop you usually visit. Today's lowest prices shows the current five cheapest ounces, checked every hour.
Whole flower or ground?
Whole flower
The buds as they were grown. You can see and smell what you are buying, it keeps longer in the jar, and it is what "an ounce" means at the counter. The fair comparison with a $240 to $280 regular ounce.
Ground, shake or smalls
Flower that is already broken down, or the small buds. Often the same plants, at a fraction of the price. Good for pre-rolls and vaporizers; it dries out faster, so buy what you will use within a few weeks.
If you roll your own or use a dry-herb vaporizer, ground flower is usually the best value in the shop. Our guide to ground flower explains what you get. If you want whole buds, compare whole-flower ounces only, which is why the numbers below use the $99 ounce, not the $45 one.
What it adds up to in a year
Take a patient who buys an ounce a month. Compared with a $99 ounce of whole flower:
- At $240 regular: $141 saved a month, $1,692 a year.
- At $260 regular: $161 saved a month, $1,932 a year.
- At $280 regular: $181 saved a month, $2,172 a year.
Buy less than an ounce a month and the savings shrink with it, but the price gap per gram stays the same. To try your own amount, move the slider in How much FindMari saves you at the bottom of the Today page.
How to catch the cheap ounces
You do not have to check every shop every morning. Tell FindMari your price and it will tell you.
- Open Your price alerts on the Today page.
- Choose Price of an ounce and type your limit, for example $100. Under the form you will see how many of today's deals already meet it.
- Tap Turn on alerts and save and allow notifications. You do not need an account.
Each new ounce deal under your limit is sent to your phone once, between 9 AM and 9 PM.
Before you go, check the terms. Some ounce deals are build-your-own from a set list of strains, some are limited to one per patient, and stock runs out. Each shop sets its own rules and they can vary by store.
Compare by the gram
Not every good deal is an ounce. A 14 gram bag at $33 or a half ounce at $49 can match or beat an ounce deal per gram. Price per gram shows how to compare them, and FindMari works it out for you on every flower deal it can price.
