How much medical marijuana can you buy in Florida?
Florida measures medical marijuana in supplies, not in a single weekly amount. The limits below are written into section 381.986, Florida Statutes; your physician's orders in the Registry decide what you can buy within them.
Most products: a 70-day supply
A treatment center may not dispense more than a 70-day supply of marijuana to a patient or caregiver within any 70-day period. The Department of Health sets, by rule, a daily dose amount for each form of marijuana and uses it to calculate the 70-day supply.
Smokable flower: 35 days and 2.5 ounces
For marijuana in a form for smoking, a treatment center may dispense no more than one 35-day supply within any 35-day period, and a 35-day supply may not exceed 2.5 ounces unless the department approves an exception.
What you may have at home
A patient may not possess more than a 70-day supply of marijuana, or more than the greater of 4 ounces of smokable marijuana or an amount the department has approved for them, at any one time. Everything bought must stay in its original packaging.
How long one certification lasts
A physician may not issue a certification for more than three 70-day supply limits, or more than six 35-day supply limits of smokable marijuana. A physician can ask the department for an exception to the daily dose, the 35-day smokable limit and the 4-ounce possession limit, explaining why the standard amount is not enough.
