Alongside the daily deals, most Florida dispensaries run discounts that never change: a set percentage off for certain groups of patients, every day, on most of the menu. They are rarely advertised on the front page, so plenty of people who qualify never use them.
Who usually qualifies
The common ones
- Veterans and active military. The most widely offered.
- Seniors. The qualifying age differs by brand.
- First-time patients. Usually your first order, sometimes your first few visits.
- Patients on state assistance. Medicaid, SNAP or disability benefits at some brands.
- Industry workers, students and birthdays. Less common, but offered by some.
- Recertification. A discount around your annual renewal visit.
Each brand sets its own list and its own amounts, and they change. The discounts page shows what each Florida brand publishes, with the date it was last checked.
What proof they ask for
- Veterans: a VA card, a DD-214, or a driving licence marked veteran.
- Seniors: your photo ID, which they are scanning anyway.
- Assistance programmes: a current benefits card or letter.
Most shops record it on your patient profile once, so you do not have to show it every visit. Ask at the counter whether that has been done.
Does it stack with the daily deal?
Usually not. The common rule is that you get the better of the two, not both. Read the deal's fine print: a line such as "not stackable with other discounts" means the standing discount will not be added on top.
That makes a simple habit worth having. On a sale item, the daily deal usually wins. On a full-price item, your standing discount usually does. Asking the consultant which one they applied costs nothing.
Worth knowing
- Standing discounts apply every day, not just on sale days.
- Get it added to your profile once.
- Expect the better of the two discounts, not both.
Discounts, amounts and eligibility are set by each dispensary and change without notice. Confirm the current terms with the shop before you buy.
